When you are holidaying in the Kumaon Himalayas. Almost always you would crave for a view of the famous Panch-Chulli peaks. You may sight them beyond Almora, from Binsar, Pithoragarh, Berinag and Chaukhori. But at Munsyari you have the fabulous Panch-Chulli towering all of 22600 feet right in front of you. Ensconced amidst the mountains in Pithoragarh district of Uttaranchal at a height of 7000 ft. this Himalayan settlement is probably the closest you can get to experiencing the Greater Himalayas from hand shaking proximity. Amidst virgin forests, fabulous snow caped peaks and a mighty glacial river the township of Munsyari is the gateway to the world famous Milam, Ralam and Namik glaciers. Yes, this is one place where nature still presents itself in all its pristine glory, unspoilt by man-made edifices of creature comforts.

∆ MILAM GLACIER TREK (Altitude 2290 mts.)
The Himalayan region of Kumaon is a store house of natural beauty beyond belief. Protected from the onslaught of the outside world, the Himalayan ecology remains well conserved here, making the region a great retreat for the lovers of nature. The trek to the Milam Glacier is amongst the best of treks in this region, taking you through some of the remotest areas with breathtaking panorama. Finally reaching the glacier, one is awed by the splendour of the majestic Mt.Trishul (7070m) which stands tall dwarfing everything in the vicinity.
∆ Maheshwari Kund This is a natural lake on top of the mountain, with a very picturesque view. A must visit for first timers to Munsyari.
∆ Munsiyari Bugyal Munsiyari Bugyal is a picturesque meadow covered with alpine grass. From here, you can see the Munsiyari Valley and much beyond.
∆ Local Tea Nursery Located on the top of the hill this is a nice place to relax, take lots of photographs and have a picnic too.
∆ Balati Farm At a height of 9000 feet this farm grows high yielding potatoes. Surrounded by lush green forests the farm has a magnificent view of the Panch – Chulli Peaks. A wonderful trek for all nature lovers.
∆ Thambri Kund This is an artificial lake, at the height of 8000 feet and really appropriate to site some wildlife.
